Accepting Applications for 2021/22 Family Diagram App Seminar

Applications are now open for the 2021/2022 Family Diagram App Seminar. Applications are due October 1. However, there are limited spots available so acceptance is on a first-come, first-served basis. Information about how to apply can be found on the App Seminar page. The schedule for this academic year will be negotiated among participants once applications are closed.

The Family Diagram app seminar is an opportunity for advanced students of Bowen theory to engage the Family Diagram app in the application of theory. Participants learn through presenting their own efforts to the author of the app and to other participants, along with facilitated discussions about theory and its application in research and practice.

This will be the first official year of the app seminar. A pilot seminar was conducted during the 2020/2021 academic year with a smaller invitation-only group. The pilot clarified an ideal function of the seminar so as to open it to a wider range of applicants. It was discovered that the app provides a unique opportunity to challenge what one believes one knows about self and emotional systems, and the seminar provided an opportunity to learn, discuss, and contribute to the future of Bowen Theory through scientific research and professional practice.
