Applications are now open for the 2023/2024 Family Diagram App Seminar. Applications will be accepted until the seminar is full. Information about format, schedule, and how to apply can be found on the App Seminar page. The schedule for this academic year will be presented to applicants by August 15. There is some opportunity to adjust the schedule to balance the needs of all participants.
The Family Diagram app seminar is an opportunity for advanced students of Bowen theory to engage the Family Diagram app in the application of theory. Participants learn through presenting their own efforts to the author of the app and to other participants, along with facilitated discussions about theory and its application in research and practice.
Recent changes to the seminar include:
- Folks applying Bowen Theory in professional practice may now apply to the app seminar.
- Anyone without formal training in Bowen Theory but with a research project aimed at peer-reviewed publication in a scientific periodical may now apply to the seminar.
- More meetings have been added to the schedule to allow for both long and short participant presentations.
Regardless of how someone meets the prerequisites for application, the requirement of using the app to form falsifiable hypotheses remains in place. More information on how this applies to the different ways to meet the prerequisites can be found on the App Seminar Page.
