Using Tags in the Visual Timeline

This video covers using tags to stack horizontal rows of events in the visual timeline for comparison. It also reviews adding tags to events to filter in the tabular timeline.

The backbone of a systems assessment is a timeline of dated facts. These dated facts, or “events”, are the curated raw data from the case. In the beginning they are an unorganized heap of information. There are many ways this heap of information can be related. Relating variables across multiple dimensions is an essential part of a systems assessment.

The visual timeline allows you to compare chronological relations between groups of data that you choose. You may want to compare important events from a nuclear family with nuclear events with its extended family. Or compare shifts in a symptom with shifts in the family system. The choice is yours.

This video will show you how to group events using “tags,” and how to show those tags on the visual timeline.
